Hello All;
Just wanted to check in again following our second concert of the tour, this time in Salt Lake City. I'm happy to say that the Glee Club is doing quite well; no one has suffered any injuries despite the number who learned the hard way that it is cold to sleep outside on the North Rim in 30-degree weather. It certainly helps that all hosting and receptions have been wonderful so far, we could hardly ask for a warmer welcome. As usual, the saving grace of the tour manager's inadequacies are made up for as soon as the host gets to meet with and talk to HGC members.
The concerts themselves have been going spectacularly well both musically and financially. In both of our past two concerts we have sold double the amount of merchandise even our historic-highs tend to be. We've also had the good fortune to sing to two packed churches (over 500 people in each), although the full Cathedral today with a 6-second reverb was truly special. Beyond the normal style of concerts, HGC had a great and impromptu sing for the lodge residents at the North Rim and Lite did the Glee Club and itself proud yesterday morning in a live segment on "Good Day Utah" on Salt Lake City TV-Station 13.
As always, please feel free to email or call me with any questions or updates - there is far more going on than can be typed up in an email!
From the Desert Botanical Garden to the North Rim to Zion National Park and now on to Temple Square, the Glee Club is both experiencing America and putting our best foot forward musically and personally everywhere we travel!
Best Wishes,
Kelby
