This letter should be introduced with a resounding Let Their Celestial Concerts All Unite! This is an historic moment! It is our privilege as the nominating committee to reach out to each and every alumnus of the Harvard Glee Club to invite you to be a part of shaping the future of the Harvard Glee Club Foundation through your participation in electing the new Board of Directors.

The Nominating Committee will create a slate of up to 12 candidates for the Board to be elected by the Glee Club alumni during the summer. We seek your help in identifying candidates for Director and for the Board committees. The responsibilities of a Director and opportunities for serving on a committee are outlined in the enclosed job description and statement of responsibilities of the standing committees. You may nominate yourself, a fellow alumnus, or another interested and engaged person, as many persons as you wish.  You may find a nomination form through the following link:  The deadline for all nominations is June 24, 2009.   You may also submit nominations through fax: 617-849-5454 or via mail: Harvard Glee Club Foundation, 1753 Massachusetts Ave., 3rd fl., Cambridge, MA  02140. 

The Nominating Committee will spend the early part of the summer vetting the nominees in preparation for the final ballot to be “mailed” to all our alumni mid August. Quotes are around “mailed” with the earnest hope that each of you will send your email address to the Foundation’s Executive Director, ehansen@harvardgleeclub.org, so that future communications can be by email, the most fiscally responsible way to conserve our generous alumni giving.

The results of the alumni election will be presented at the Annual Meeting of the Foundation on October 25, 2009 which will also be the time of the first meeting of the new Board of Directors.
